Thank you all so much for making the awards launch so successful. The winners will be announced tomorrow and I think we have a great selection of stories to be honored this year.
I had originally decided to split the RPS and FPS award programs over two different schedules because I thought it would have been difficult to do everything at once. However, I now realize that doing this all year long is actually going to be harder than having multiple programs at once.
As a result, next year nominations will be accepted for every track - RPS, FPS and Classic Fiction - at one time. I don't want to wait until then to begin the FPS and Classic Fiction programs, so starting October 1 nominations will open for both of these categories. But the eligibility timetable will be the same (stories completed between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007; multi-chapter fics started no earlier than January 1, 2006) so that next year everything will be in sync. Check the comm later this week for details about eligibility and category descriptions.

One thing? What I loved the most of this awards was that ONLY completed fiction were eligible. Please, please don't change that! Because I loved to be able to completely read every story I voted, I did knowing I liked it from the beginning to the end of it. *gives you a pretty-puppy look*

Date: 2007-09-24 11:21 am (UTC)I won't be adding a work-in-progress category. I think it would increase the workload plus I also find it frustrating to begin a story and not be able to find it to finish it (or sometimes it's never finished). Don't worry about that; only completed stories will be included. :-)

Date: 2007-09-24 11:34 am (UTC)So. Let me get this straight. We are going to do this for October. This October, yeah? YAY!
And thank you for not adding wips category. I hate to feel like the spoilsports for those who have a wip, but it's also a way to tell them FINISH the story! As you say, it's frustrating. Even more so when the fic last was updated two years ago or so *cries*
