There are only a few days left to cast your votes for the wonderful stories nominated this year for the mome_awards. To vote you need to be a member of the comm or send an e-mail to mome.awards@gmail.com to request a ballot.

You'll find old favorites and new gems across a wide variety of RPS fics (38 different pairings are represented on the ballot), so please check out the exceptional stories. Voting will be open until September 15 at 11:59 pm EDT.

I don't suppose there is any chance of extending the deadline? I don't really expect it but, for myself, I've been getting ready for Z-Con on the 15th and haven't had time for much reading. I really don't know whether that would affect anyone else here.

This is one of those difficult questions because I'm not able to accommodate everyone. I'd love to say yes but it's just not possible. Beside the fact that I extended it once at the beginning of the process, I feel like there's always going to be another event or commitment in real life that will keep people from being able to read and vote. But more importantly, I have to get the FPS side of things up and running in the next week and the classic fiction program launched next month, and to keep things from becoming completely overwhelming something has to be put to bed.

I'm sorry that other responsibilities have kept you from participating as fully as you may have liked this year and hope that you'll still wish to read the nominations and vote in the next round. It's because so many people like yourself have supported this idea that we have been more successful this year than I ever expected, and I'm very grateful for that.
